As a guide, your role is crucial in helping students effectively learn Indian Sign Language using the ISLmate platform. Follow these steps to ensure a smooth and engaging learning experience.

Step 1: Introduction to ISLmate

• Website Overview
  • Start by giving the students a walkthrough of the ISLmate website.
  • Explain the structure of the platform, including sections like Lessons, Assessments, and Resources.
• Navigation Guidance
  • Demonstrate how to access videos, use interactive elements, and navigate between lessons and assessments.
  • Highlight any accessibility features, such as video playback controls and captions.
• Purpose and Goals
  • Clearly outline the objective of the session: to learn and practice Indian Sign Language in an interactive way.

Step 2: Teaching the Signs

• Demonstrate and Explain
  • Use the videos and images on the platform as teaching aids.
  • Pause videos where necessary and explain the hand movements and expressions step-by-step.
• Hands-On Assistance
  • Guide students in practicing the signs. Physically assist them if needed (with their consent) to correct their hand positions and movements.
